The Daily Blade is a podcast archive, not a business that profiles you. We record anonymous usage analytics to learn which teaching helps people most, and that is the whole of it. There are no accounts, no logins, and no third-party ad trackers. This page explains, plainly, what we collect and why.

Anonymous by design

What we collect

Usage signals tied to a random per-browser id - never to who you are.

What gets recorded

As you use the site we record a few things: the searches you type, the questions you ask the chat, which episodes you play or view, and the pages you visit. Each of these is tied to a random per-browser id that we store in your browser’s localStorage.

That id is not linked to your name, your email, or an account - because we have none of those. It is just a random label that lets us tell one browsing session apart from another so the numbers make sense. Clear your browser storage and the id is gone.

The only reason

Why we collect it

To understand which teaching is most helpful and improve the archive.

Knowing which scriptures, topics, and episodes people search for and return to tells us what is actually useful. We use it to improve the archive - what to surface, what to index better, and where the search and chat are falling short. That is the only purpose. We do not use it to advertise to you or to build a profile of you.

Stays with us

Where it is stored

Privately, on our own server - not sold, not shared.

On our own server

The analytics we collect are stored privately on our own server. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and there are no third-party advertising trackers on this site. It exists so we can read it ourselves and make the archive better.

Other services

Third parties the site contacts

To play audio, embed video, and answer your questions - each under its own policy.

Who else is involved

To make the site work, your browser also talks to a few outside services. When it does, those services handle your request under their own privacy policies, not ours:

  • BuzzsproutHosts and serves the episode audio you press play on.
  • YouTubeProvides the embedded video players on episode pages.
  • Our AI providerPowers the chat and search features when you type a question.
